Lobelia Siphilicata (Campanulaceae) - Although this specimen didn't have what Peterson's field guide describes as characteristic "white stripes on the lower lobes and belly of the corolla", I believe I have identified it correctly. The latin part of the name siphilicata refers to its use by native americans as a treatment for syphilis, among other things. Blooms late summer into the fall. (Photographed in WI)
