Datura stramonium (Solanaceae) - This member of the Tomato family shares many of the proprties of its relatives "Nightshade" and "Horse Nettle". Although Datura has a history of medicinal use, it is extremely toxic, and its (mis)use is often fatal. Several of its chemical components are used in medicine, including the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Even touching it to collect it, however, can cause a skin reaction. Admire it from a distance.
Jimsonweed blooms in summer.
