Tradescantia virginiana (Commelinaceae) -- These large (2/3 ft tall) plants are more often seen in gardens. The word "wort" in the name refers to the old english word for "plant". They are related to the dayflowers, and bloom from mid spring to mid summer. (Photographed in PA)
